Fall 2017 Programs for Preschoolers:

The Fall sessions will run from Monday, August 14 to Saturday, December 23. We will have no morning programs October 16 through 19.

Preschool Classes: Mondays & Thursdays from 10:15 – 11:15 am

Stories, Songs, rhymes, working on skills to prepare for Kindergarten – listening, following directions, story comprehension, and more! Best for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. (No class on October 16 & 19)

Preschoolers Play 2 Learn: Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, & Dec. 16 from 10:30 – 11:30 am

Children ages 3-5 years and their care givers are invited to join us for games, activities, and crafts designed to help preschoolers build their communication, problem-solving, scissors, fine motor, following directions skills.

Family Storytime: Mondays from 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Songs, rhymes and stories that fill your imagination and expand your knowledge. A craft will follow this 25 minute storytime.

Hands On: Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 10:15 – 11:15 am

This is a sensory program for children ages 0 – 5 years. We will have a variety of materials such as blocks, balls, craft supplies, textures, colors, etc., for children to examine and describe, utilize, and learn. (No class on October 17 & 18)

Creative Constructors: Tuesdays from 3:30 – 5:00 pm & Sept. 23, Oct. 28, Nov. 25, & Dec. 23 from 10:30 – 11:30 am

Children ages 0-12 years and their families are welcome to build, learn, and play with LEGO® and Duplo® bricks!

Colorin, Colorado: Tuesdays from 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Spanish/English storytime! All ages are welcome to this program that’s fun for the whole family. You do not have to speak or read Spanish to enjoy Colorin, Colorado!

Reading Adventures with Scout: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays from 3:30 – 4:00 pm (Begins September 6)

Scout is an English Mastiff who loves people and stories! He and his owner, Wendy Teach, provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for children to practice reading aloud. Scout is registered with Therapy Dogs International.

Tail Waggin’ Reads: Sept. 2, Oct. 7, Nov. 4, & Dec. 2 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Join certified therapy dog Obi and his owner Larry for some reading fun! This program is best for children who are beginning to read or are already reading. Take the opportunity to practice reading aloud to Obi, who loves kids and stories!

Saturday Storytime: Sept. 23, Nov. 25, & Dec. 23 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Songs, rhymes and stories that fill your imagination and expand your knowledge. A craft will follow this 25 minute storytime.

Special Events:

Johnny Appleseed Celebration: September 30 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm

We’re celebrating the life of Johnny Appleseed and all things apple! This program is for children and their families.

Halloween Fun for Families: October 28 from 12:00 – 4:00 pm

Children and their families are welcome to join us and make some fun monster crafts and watch a couple of Halloween classics! We’ll kick off this event at 12:00 pm with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. We’ll begin our crafts immediately after the Great Pumpkin (12:30 – 4:00 pm). The movie Hocus Pocus, rated PG, begins at 2:00 pm and is 96 minutes long.

Geek: November 4 from 10:00 – 4:00 pm

We’ll join the whole library event with Fall Celebration Crafts for ages 3-12 years. Then, our friends from Barnyard Buddies will be on the Library’s west lawn facing Dixieland Road from 2:00 until 4:00PM with pony rides and a petting zoo! Come on out and celebrate fall with us!

Jingles Holiday Spectacular Show: December 2 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm

All ages are welcome to this family-friendly holiday show!

Celebrate Christmas Card Day: December 9 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm

It’s National Christmas Card Day! Want to send a holiday greeting to someone special? Then come to the Children’s Library and create one! We’ll have plenty of craft materials; you’ll just need to bring your imagination!All ages are welcome!
