Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Rogers Public Library team.  Our volunteers make wonderful contributions to our community. We do not offer court-ordered volunteer hours.

Volunteer opportunities:

Student Volunteers

Teens 13-18 years old who are able to volunteer on a regular schedule in the Children’s and Teen Library.

How to apply: Please print & complete the student volunteer application & waiver or complete an online application.  Applications are also available at RPL.

Upon receipt of a complete application, library staff will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities.

 

Adult Volunteers

Volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Different opportunities are available, such as shelving, book repair/processing, and homebound delivery.

Upon receipt of a complete application, library staff will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities and schedule an appointment.  Please note that some volunteer positions may require an interview & a background check.

 

Adopt-a-Shelf Volunteers

Adopt-a-Shelf volunteers are assigned a section of the library collection to monitor, making certain that items are in the correct location and arranged neatly on the shelves. Volunteers are asked to work on their assigned section for a minimum of one hour every two weeks, at their convenience.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. A background check is required.

eCard Data Entry Volunteers

Volunteers for eCards will create accounts and assemble information packets for students and faculty of the Rogers School District. The eCards are a free service provided by Rogers Public Library to offer online access to a variety of education resources.
Volunteers must be over 18, and will need to complete a background check. Basic computer skills and the ability to commit to a weekly schedule are required. Additional training will be provided.

Traveling Story Time Presenter

Volunteers for Rogers Public Library’s Traveling Story Time will present story time programs to children, parents, and teachers/caregivers in various schools, preschools, daycare, churches, etc. The successful candidates for these positions must have 3 to 6 hours per week they can devote to this program.  They also must possess stellar spoken and written English skills and must be able to read English fluently.  Training in various story time skills will be provided. An enthusiastic personality and a love of acting silly are considered bonuses for anyone interested in applying for this position.  Volunteers for this program must be kind, patient, and genuinely love children and children’s literature and be committed to stimulating and inspiring the imagination of children and fostering a love of literature and libraries in children.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must have their own reliable transportation.  RPL’s dress code and code of conduct will apply to this position.  All volunteer candidates must be willing to undergo a background check by the City of Rogers.
