Motion pictures must be one of the most inspiring and fantastic artistic endeavors man has ever created.  From screenplay to the theater it takes a cast of thousands to create these few wonderful moments of entertainment.  From script writing to acting, to cinematography, costume and set design, special effects and music it may take years and hundreds of people to create these works of art we call Movies.  The Rogers Public Library has not only invested in films both of historical value and for our customers pure entertainment but the Library has invested in a collection of books to help the young film maker.  This year Malco Pinnacle Hills Cinema helped the Rogers Public Library raise $497.00 during the  showing of the movie Jungle Book this May.  The proceeds raised from for this fundraiser were invested in books for the movie and film section of the Adult Non-Fiction collection.  Malco Pinnacle Hills has been a longtime supporter of the Rogers Public Library and previous funds have been invested into Screenwriting, Cinematography, Editing, and Directing. This year funds were used for Special Effects, Animation, Costume Design, Special Effects Make-Up, and Interviews with Directors.

The largest portion of this donation went to purchase books from University Press of Mississippi Film Director series.  These are collections of interviews with major directors talking about their creative process, problems they encountered, and how their films came to be made.  These are excellent resources for young filmmakers since they are directors talking about directing.  Also purchased was the excellent book on Alfred Hitchcock written by Francois Truffaut.  Alfred Hitchcock was one of the greatest directors of all time and so was Francois Truffaut so many critics consider this book to one of the greatest books on movie making ever written.
