Chinese New Year Celebration!

Children and their families are welcome to join us as we celebrate Chinese New Year 2017—the Year of the Rooster! On Saturday, January 28, between 2:00 and 3:30PM, we’ll read stories, listen to music, play games, make crafts, and enjoy light refreshments.
Why celebrate Chinese New Year? Chinese New Year is celebrated in China as a way to rest after a year’s hard work and to visit with family, and it’s also a time to make wishes [somewhat like our New Year’s resolutions] for the upcoming year. The Children’s Library staff looks forward to this time of year when we all learn about another culture through traditions, legends, fairy tales/folk tales, food, crafts, and games.
