Let’s Talk About an App

Last month we talked about the various apps you can use for library materials.  This month we’d like to highlight one particular app that wasn’t mentioned: an app people have been asking for.  It’s Rogers Public Library’s app!

We’ve been working to get it ready for you, our patrons, and now it’s finally here.  This app lets you review your account, search our catalog, request items (place holds), and renew your items.  You can also save your family’s library cards in the barcode wallet. Convenient information is right at your fingertips; be it what’s happening tomorrow in Children’s or if we’ll be open next Tuesday. There are also links to online resources that will highlight various databases that we provide for you.

Want to see where we are and who we are, digitally speaking? We have a one stop access point for our social media.  Want to contact us?  The app will do that too.

To celebrate our new app, we’re going to have a Download Day, February 21.  Come in, get set up, and possibly win a prize. Not that you have to wait until February 21 to download; you can do it now from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Don’t worry; if you’re an early bird, you can still take part in the Download Day fun.  More information will be posted soon.

Chinese New Year Celebration

The Children’s Library at Rogers Public Library presents our annual Chinese New Year Celebration for children ages 0-12 years and their families on Saturday, February 17, from 2:00 until 3:30 PM.

2018 is the Year of the Dog!  Come listen to stories, learn about Chinese culture, make crafts, and play games.  Light refreshments will be served.

Crafts include cherry blossom painting, felt fortune cookies, paper shapes dogs, and paper plate fans.  Games include pin the tail on the dog, chopstick challenge, and BINGO!

Children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
