Have you ever wanted to come to the library, curl up with a nice book, and drink a beer or two? Well, that is about to happen! Sort of…
The Rogers Public Library is teaming up with Ozark Beer Company to introduce our very first off-site book club, “Books and Brews.” We will be meeting the first Monday of each month at OBC (located downtown at 109 N Arkansas St) starting in May!
The first meeting will be Monday, May 7th from 5:30 to 7pm. We will be discussing A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle.
If you’ve never been to OBC, this would be a great time to come see how they’ve transformed the old flour mill into a great place to hang out and talk about books. Books and Brews will meet on the second floor and, since stomachs will be rumbling, you’re welcome to bring in food—OBC is awesome like that.
Don’t think you’ll be able to make it to the first meeting? No problem, the second one will be June 4th and we will be discussing Stiff: The Curious Life of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach—a nonfiction book that explores what happens to bodies postmortem.
If third time is the charm for you to be able to attend, we will be posting more information on our social media pages as well as starting up a closed Facebook Group for more discussion and planning to happen. You’re welcome to join at any time; but, being a part of the Facebook group isn’t a requirement for attending Books and Brews at OBC, nor is having an RPL library card.
We just want to have a grand time tipping back a glass of award-winning brews and flipping through pages of some good books with y’all. So, keep your eye out for more information and, if you have any questions, feel free to contact the Rogers Public Library through Facebook or email at: email@example.com.
