Curbside Holds Pickup

Curbside Holds Pickup

The Rogers Public Library is pleased to announce that curbside pickup services will be offered beginning Tuesday, May 26.  These services will be available Monday-Thursday 10 am – 6 pm and Friday – Saturday 10 am – 3 pm. You will be able to place a hold on FIVE items per card. Interested patrons must have a library card in good standing and place items on hold through one of three methods:

1) log into their account on the Rogers Public Library website
2) call the Library at 479-621-1152 option 3
3) email the Library at rplaskalibrarian@rogersar.gov

Patrons placing holds through phone or email will need to provide their library card number.  All customary hold fees will be waived for this service.

Please allow 24 hours for staff to process hold items.  Staff will notify patrons via email, text, or phone call when materials are ready for pickup.  Patrons shall call the Library when they are on their way; staff will verbally verify their library card number before picking up bagged hold items at the front entrance of the Library.  In order to ensure public safety, patrons will have no physical contact with staff.

The Library will also open drive-through book drops for patrons to return library materials.  Only one of three returns will be open each day, Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday – Saturday from 9a.m. – 5 p.m.  Book returns will remain closed on Sundays until further notice.  For the safety of staff and patrons, all items returned will be quarantined for 72 hours, and then back-dated when checked in, to make sure that patrons do not accrue late fines.

We look forward to serving you as we gradually return to normal!

Digital Magazines

Rogers Public Library has expanded the magazine titles available through RBdigital.

RBdigital features full-color, digital magazines for instant desktop reading, mobile streaming, and mobile-app download. With this service, you can add new and back issues to personal reading libraries with no holds, no checkout periods, and no limits to the number of magazines checked out and downloaded. And with personal notifications for favorite magazines, you’ll never miss an issue.

National Geographic, Newsweek, Taste of Home, and Ok! are just a few of the popular magazine titles available from RBdigital. We have added children and teen interest titles, Spanish language and a few more languages. Find a wider selection of craft, food and cooking, and, home and garden magazines for inspiration while you are at home.

In addition, the RBdigital app has a new reader for magazines. The new reader provides an enhanced user experience through improved ease of use and readability. The new reader offers these features:

  • New Look and Feel—A fresh new look and feel enhances the user experience and makes it easier to navigate the app. For example, now you can access the content menu from the navigation bar.
  • Text to Speech*—For the first time, RBdigital users can listen to all articles in audio format, which improves reading comprehension and allows you to listen to the article while doing other things. *Available for iOS only.
  • New Color Themes—In addition to the current light and dark themes, the new reader adds sepia and gray to improve readability of text and reduce eye fatigue.
  • Scalable Font and Screen Brightness Controls—Instead of an action sheet selector, the new reader uses a slider control for finer grain control over the font size and screen brightness.

Click here for more details about the new reader. Users will need to update their app to see the new reader.

View the RBdigital user guide for detailed instructions on how to access magazines from your mobile device or desktop computer or to register for an RBdigital account, or email the RBdigital support team with questions.
