Tell your friends! You can now request an absentee ballot for the November election due to the coronavirus.
As Governor Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston announced, COVID19 is a valid reason to be unavoidably absent from the polling site on election day. If a person doesn’t feel safe going to a polling site due to COVID19, they can request an absentee ballot by selecting “unavoidably absent.”
You can request an absentee ballot application from the library through curbside pickup by calling 479-621-1152. Although we are currently open via appointment only, we are encouraging curbside pickup to reduce the amount of people in the library so we can keep staff and patrons safe.
The application will contain the physical address, fax number, and email address for returning the application to the Benton County Clerk’s office.
There are several options on the absentee ballot application that may be confusing, so we reached out to the Benton County Clerk’s office for clarification.
If you are choosing to receive an absentee ballot due to the coronavirus, you will check “I will be unavoidably absent from my polling site on Election Day.”
