We are very excited to announce that the Teen Writers Group is returning to Rogers Public Library! With Covid-19 still hanging around, we are adjusting our format, but you will still be able to enjoy lots of fun and games, writing, and discussion with your fellow aspiring authors, aged 12-19. We’ll be using Zoom to meet on Saturday afternoons. Our first session is scheduled for November 21 at 2 p.m. You’ll need to sign up so you can get the meeting link. Just give us a call at (479) 621-1152 or register online. We are limiting the size to 8 currently, so claim your space as soon as possible! Check out our Facebook and Instagram accounts for Weekly Writing Prompts.
NaNoWriMo is the word for November. National Novel Writing Month has not been deleted from the calendar just because a pandemic came to call. If you are unfamiliar with this mania, here’s the story (from their website): “National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Now, each year on November 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with 50,000 words of a brand new novel.” They also have a Young Writers Program (YWP) that allows younger participants to set their own goals. They offer lots of resources for “Wrimos” (NaNoWriMo participants). Google them and sign up at their websites if you are interested, and join us at RPL online and at Teen Writers Group for some extra support!
