This time, we’ll be talking with local author Jacquelyn Holmes:

I am a mom, wife, and novelist.Between carpool lines and changing diapers, I also write some short stories. Currently I live in Fort Smith and can often be found with an oversized laptop on an undersized table typing frantically whilst shushing the dog. If you see me gardening or sewing, I most definitely am winging it. Do send help.

Jacquelyn is the author of the book, Rabbit Trapped.

“Ash is a teenager who wants nothing more than to escape his life and begin again somewhere far away from his family. He has the skills, determination, and even a plan to leave it all behind. But when he gets to the county line, he finds a barrier tying him to town, leaving him trapped. Neveah, wanting nothing more than a normal life, is herself trapped. Trapped in a huge house with over-protective parents, kept from school and people her own age, she longs for personal connections. When she stumbles upon a picture while scrolling the internet, her life takes a drastic turn. Elliott knows he’s different. He doesn’t fit in with other people his age – especially his stepbrother Ash – and he doesn’t want to. He prefers to spend most of his time alone…well, mostly alone. When Elliott discovers Ash and Neveah are spending time together, he comes up with a plan to separate them forever. The three teens, each trapped in their own right: one by a physical barrier he doesn’t understand, one by her family, one by a dark secret, come together in this stunning debut. Inspired by the legends of the Creek Nation, Rabbit Trapped will have you asking the question, what would you do if you could never leave?”
