Books That Make Us Laugh

Mar 31, 2020

If you are anything like us, you may need some lighthearted entertainment to start this new month, so we compiled a list of titles that have made us smile that you can download from home. April Fool’s Day is just around the corner. If you didn’t find anyone to prank, you could still get a few laughs from these titles that are available through downloadable ebook or audiobook.

You can access these titles from Library2Go through the Libby or Overdrive app. If you have never used either of these before, follow the link above or download the app and sign in to get started. You’ll need your library card number and 4-digit PIN number. The following titles are all available as ebooks or audiobooks.

Funny, You Don’t Look Autistic by Michael McCreary is this year’s Big Library Read. The Big Library Read is an event that takes place from March 23-April 13 and includes an online book discussion and interview with the author. Because of this, there is no wait for this title.

Plenty of the installments in P.G. Wodehouse‘s hilarious series following Jeeves and Wooster are available through Library2Go.

Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson, a humorous story of friendship and spontaneous combustion, is both heartfelt and heartwarming.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman is a humor classic that may help you make a “daring escape” from some of your current stress.

Welcome to Nightvale by Joseph Fink is a fantastic novel based in the same world as the popular podcast by the same name.

In The Princess Diarist, we join Carrie Fisher as she looks back on the experiences that lead her to become the galaxy’s favorite princess.

If it is your first time signing in to RBdigital, you will need to register to create information for a new account. All you need is your library card number. Once you create an account, you can access all the material through the RBdigital app. The following titles are available through RBdigital as audiobooks.

The Complete and Utter History of the World by Samuel Stewart Aged 9 by Sarah Burton provides a child’s complete (and completely ridiculous) history of the world (as he knows it).

Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar by Thomas Cathcart is a hilarious crash course in Philosophy.

A Treasury of Deception by Michael Farquhar seeks to celebrate historical scams and the daring cons who tried to pull them off.

How to Survive a Horror Movie by Seth Grahame-Smith is a hilarious (and possibly useful) guide to escaping a horror flick, if you should ever find yourself in that situation.

The Stupid Crook Book by Leland Gregory has compiled tales of heinous(ly funny) crimes from police blotters across America.

You Are Not So Smart by David McRaney is a book about lies that we tell and how to recognize the psychological tricks we play on ourselves.

Please remember that the PIN number on your account changed to the last four digits of your library card number when we switched to our new system. If you need any assistance downloading content, please feel free to call the library. We are happy to help.

Happy reading!
