December “What’s New?”

Dec 1, 2019

Beating about the Bush, the thirtieth entry in M. C. Beaton’s series following Agatha Raisin, will arrive on December 3. This adventure features the plucky and irascible amateur detective finding a severed leg, investigating industrial mysteries at a factory, and being embarrassed by an angry donkey and promises as always to live up to her previous escapades that are simultaneously perilous and humorous.

Robin Cook’s newest thriller, Genesis, will release on December 3. This thriller features two shrewd medical examiners, Laura Montgomery and Aria Nichols, as they dig deeper into the mysterious death of a young social worker. The woman died of an apparent drug overdose, but the family’s evidence combined with her lack of a history of drug abuse leaves the doctors looking for explanations. When their investigations are hushed up, Aria uses a controversial method to pull DNA from the victim’s unborn child to find the elusive father and, hopefully, some answers.

In her first and widely popular novel, The Children on Blood and Bone, Tomi Adeyemi introduced Zélie, a young woman who would have been capable of great magical feats if magic had not been banished, and her efforts to revive magic with the use of a powerful ritual. In Children of Virtue and Vengeance, Zélie and her friends must cope with the aftermath of magic’s return. Can they create balance in this new world where magic abounds on both sides? Can they avoid the civil war that is brewing? Find out when Children of Virtue and Vengeance arrives on December 3.

In Regretting You, Colleen Hoover tackles the fraught relationship between Morgan Grant and her daughter Clara. The two have wildly conflicting personalities that make it impossible for them to see eye to eye. The only person who can bridge the gap between them is Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father, but everything begins to fall apart when Chris is involved in an accident that is as mysterious as it is unfortunate. Although resolution seems impossible, you will be rooting for this duo until the last chapter when Regretting You arrives on December 10.
